What is a “QMI” Home?

What does “QMI” Stand For?

Good question. The term “QMI” stands for Quick Move-In home. The home building industry uses this term to refer to new homes that are complete or near completion. These are available for move-in as early as two weeks, or in some cases, now.

Why do Builders have QMIs?

We get it. Not everyone wants to wait to get into a new home. A family relocating due to job might find QMIs to be a good fit.  If you don’t not have the time to pick through all the options, a QMI could be you’re new home route.

Will a QMI Work for Me?

A builder has available homes complete or near completion. They build these with the same detail, quality and style as any other new home. Many of these already include popular options and upgrades, making for a nice selection.

How Do I Find a QMI?

D.R. Horton, America’s #1 Builder by volume, runs a National Red Tag Event throughout the year. This event is specifically focused on homes ready for move in. A builder offers a limited amount of available QMIs throughout the year. It’s important to keep your eyes out on events like such.
