What does “QMI” stand for?
Good question, it stands for Quick Move-In home. The home building industry uses this term to refer to new homes that are completed or near completion and available for move-in as early as two weeks, or in some cases, now.
Why do builders have QMIs?
A builder will have new homes complete or near completion and ideal for buyers needing to move quickly. These new homes are built with the same detail, quality and style as any other new home.
Will a QMI work for me?
Many QMI homes already include popular options and upgrades, making it a nice selection. If you are a buyer that does not have the time, nor patience to pick through all the options, a QMI could be your route to a new home. We get it – not everyone wants to wait to get into a new home. A family relocating due to job or to be closer to other family might find QMIs to be a good fit.
How do I find a QMI?
D.R. Horton, America’s #1 Builder by volume, runs a National Red Tag Event throughout the year. This event is specifically focused on homes ready for move-in. A builder offers a limited amount of available QMIs throughout the year, so it’s important to keep your eyes out on events like such.
